What this map does
Shows fiber and broadband coverage across the U.S. Search an address to see nearby networks, score them by footprint or distance, or load a specific provider’s routes.

Address

1. Choose Address in the dropdown.
2. Type a street address, city, and state (ZIP optional).
3. Click Go (or press Enter).

The map places a pin and, if Score is on, ranks and loads the top networks for that area.

Score (checkbox)

• On — After an address search, networks are ranked and the top ones are drawn on the map.
• Off — Only the address pin is placed; no network layers are loaded.

Score Settings

Fine-tune how networks are ranked after an address search:

• Min Polylines — Ignore networks with fewer features than this in the state.
• Relative Threshold — Keep only networks whose score is within this fraction of the top score (e.g. 0.25 = top 25% band).
• Rank by
  • Coverage — largest footprint in the state first.
  • Nearest — closest network centroid to your address first.
  • Hybrid — balance of size and distance.
  • Speed — highest average advertised download (Mbps) first. FCC files only; KMZs without speed data are omitted.

Change settings, then press Go immediately — you do not need to switch back to Address first. Go re-runs the last searched address with the new settings.

Bulk Address

1. Choose Bulk Address.
2. Upload a CSV with columns: Address, City, State, Zip.
3. Click Upload & Pin.

Addresses are geocoded and pinned on the map. No network layers are scored or drawn. A successful bulk run that places at least one pin uses 5 daily quota units.

Open RFPs

1. Choose Open RFPs.
2. Click Go.

Pins today’s opportunities (E-Rate, State, Federal, Organic). No KMZ/KML is scored or drawn. Click a pin for value, summary, and the source link. E-Rate links open the Map4 app (login required). Uses 1 daily quota unit per load.

Submit RFP

Choose Submit RFP and fill Type, address, city, state, and a title or URL. Submit (or Go) appends a row to dailyrfp.json. State / Federal / Organic are for manual bids. If lat/lon are blank the server geocodes the address when it can.

Provider list

After an address search with Score on, the dropdown is filtered to networks relevant to that state (and ranking mode). Pick a provider and click Go to load only that network.

Pins

Address pins stay on the map for the current browser session. They are cleared when you reload the page.

Daily quota

Map usage is limited per day per IP. The counter in the lower-right (e.g. 12 / 50 today) shows how much you’ve used. Click it for recent activity. Allowlisted IPs show Unlimited.

Typical costs:

• Address search with Score / loading networks — 1 unit per step as networks load
• Bulk Address (successful pin) — 5 units

When the limit is reached, further scoring/loading is blocked until the next day (or contact support for unlimited options).

Tips

• Use a full address with city and state for best geocoding.
• Nearest is useful when you care about proximity more than size.
• Coverage is useful when you want the largest players in the state.
• Large bulk CSVs take about 1 second per row (geocoding rate limit).
